Hialeah-Miami Lakes High senior Emily Morey was among 200 Miami Foundations’ CAP scholarship recipients who were honored during a recent Miami Marlins game at Marlins Park.
The CAP is a nonprofit organization which operates with full cooperation of The Miami Foundation and the Miami-Dade County School Board.
CAP assists Moree and other students who have exhausted all avenues of financial assistance but still have significant unmet needs to attend the college of their choice.
She applied for the scholarship in January and were among the recipients chosen based on their GPA, academic goals and career aspirations, as the grant will help overcome life’s obstacles for college success.
