The Marlins Wives and the Marlins Foundation teamed up to hold the Wives Tackle Box Auction on June 27 at Marlins Park to benefit the Moyer’s Foundation Camp Erin South Florida, hosted by Catholic Hospice headquartered in Miami Lakes.
Each Tackle Box represented a Marlins player and included autographed memorabilia and equipment as well as items unique to their personalities. The Marlins Wives collected the items for the tackle boxes and exhibited them during a silent auction. Proceeds benefitted the Moyer Foundation's Camp Erin.
Catholic Hospice offers Camp Erin twice a year and is open and free to all children living in South Florida. Camp Erin is a nationwide bereavement camp founded and partially funded by the Moyer Foundation, a national bereavement organization founded by Philadelphia pitcher Jamie Moyer.
Catholic Hospice is a not-for-profit health care organization providing end-of-life care to terminally ill patients and their families throughout Miami-Dade and Broward County.
