Mater Academy’s Cross Country team finish 16th at FHSAA

Mater Academy’s girls cross country team took on the best competitors at the FHSAA state meet and ran away with impressive performances by finishing in 16th place overall last week in Tallahassee. Eighth-grade student Jinah Mickens-Malik lead the way, finishing 7th overall, and 9th grader, Valerie Lastra earned the silver medal. The team earned its spot in the state competition by finishing in 3rd place in regional competition with an overall time of 18:07.
