Mater Lakes Academy athletes make great strides in cross country

Mater Lakes Academy’s Cross Country team is making their mark this season with an invitation to compete in this year’s Districts meet that took place Thursday, October 26. 

Recently, runners have medaled in the Junior Orange Bowl Invitational and the South Florida Small School Invitational. The cross country team is under the direction of Ismael Gonzalez and Jose Morales.

On Friday, October 13, at the Junior Orange Bowl Invitational the following students placed in the top 25 of the meet:  Angelo Gómez, Valentina Consuegra, Carolyn Berroto, and Ryan Workman.
On Friday, October 20, at the South Florida Small School Invitational, the following students were placed in the top 40 of the meet: Alejandro Perez, Luis Marca, Evan Cortes, Jayden Medina, Danny Morales, Ryan Workman, Jose Chio, Brandan Almonte, Andres Triana, Valentina Consuegra, Isabella Santiago, Enya Morrera, and Sundip Singh.

“We are extremely proud overall of our Athletic programs at Mater Lakes, but, we are wowed with what our Cross Country team has been able to do this season,” said principal Rene Rovirosa.
