Mater Lakes boys' soccer team defeated in semifinals

Mater Lakes boys’ varsity soccer team fell to LaSalle, 2-0, in the regional semifinals ending the Bears’ season who finished 12-2-2 including going undefeated in district play.
LaSalle avenged its district championship loss to Mater Lakes which trailed 2-0 with eight minutes left in the game and rallied to send the game into overtime which the Bears won in penalty kicks.
The soccer team was ecstatic with the achievement they made as a team especially the 10 senior boys that get to graduate with this accomplishment. They got to bring to MLA the 1st place district trophy.
Senior Adrian Olave said, “I will never forget that winning moment as I got to make MLA history as a team.” In addition to having an undefeated season, this is Mater Lakes first District Championship in soccer.
The Bears had a remarkable run in the season defeating district foes and top ranked LaSalle, Ransom Evergkades and Keys Gate in the postseason to reach the regional semifinals.
