MDC basketball team adds four key players for 2018-19 season

Miami Dade College women’s basketball team added four key players to its roster for the 2018-2019 season, as the Lady Sharks are ready to compete for another junior college championship.
The Lady Sharks signed sophomore transfer from Stetson University, Michelle Pruitt. As a freshman at Stetson, she was named four-time ASUN Freshman of the week, led the conference in field goal percentage (.544), was ranked 11th in scoring and 6th in rebounding. Pruitt averaged 7.7 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game.
Toi Smith, a 6-0 power forward from St. Petersburg, FL (Lakewood High School), joins the Lady Sharks as well for the upcoming season. Smith averaged 18.6 points per game and 15 rebounds per game. She was named PCAC first Team 3 times, PCAC second Team Freshman Year, and she also helped lead Lakewood to the 2018 State Championship Final Four.
Combo guard Daliyah Brown of Proviso East High School out of Chicago, Illinois will be bringing her talents to Miami, while averaging 19.2 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 3 steals per game in her senior year at Proviso. She was also named 2018 team MVP and voted in the top 100 players in Chicago.
Guard Monique Pruitt-Henderson will be swimming with the Lady Sharks for the upcoming season, bringing speed, athleticisim, and pressure defense to the backcourt.
