It’s time to dust off your helmet, tune up your bicycle and work up an appetite, because the 2nd Annual Miami Lakes Culinary Bike Tour is set for Saturday, Sept. 17.

Riders will leave from Miami Lakes Town Hall at 6 p.m. for a 5-mile trip to the designated dining spots.

Cyclists will visit restaurants in the Lake Katharine, Lake Patricia and Cypress Village shopping centers and along Main Street.

So far, NQC; Vicky Bakery; Domenico’s Italian Restaurant; Diced; Dr. Limon Ceviche Bar; Cruzeiro Brazilian Steakhouse; Pizza SceneChela’s Beer Garden and ML Steaks + Sports will welcome guests. Additional restaurants may be announced.

Dining spots will offer tastes from their menus, small plates or hand-held bites. Adult beverages will cost extra. The event is for bicyclists age 21 and older.

The price is $30 per person, with a maximum capacity of 200 riders.

Reservations and payment will be accepted at toml.eventbrite.com. Riders will have to sign a waiver found on that website.

Miami-Dade Police officers will escort the tour, which will end back at Town Hall at 11 p.m.

Helbiz and Wheels scooter riders are welcome to join the tour, too.

The tour is a project of three Miami Lakes Committees: Economic Development; Neighborhood Improvement and Cultural Affairs

Cyclists should park in the Town Hall lot or in the public parking garage.

Bruce Lawrence manages ML Steaks + Sports and was present for the first tour. The restaurant plans to participate again this year.

“2019 was great,” Lawrence said. “I think the people that came in had a great time. We provide them with our sliders, and everyone loves our burgers.”

He saw new faces from the tour return to the restaurant, folks who may have not come in before.

     “It’s great exposure,” he said.
