Florida International University has designated its first home football game of the season as “Miami Lakes Night.”
FIU is offering general admission seats in the endzone for $11 -- which is $6 off the usual price -- to see the team as they play Maine on Saturday, Sept. 2.

The Panthers kick off at 6:30 p.m. at the stadium, on the Modesto A. Maidique Campus, 11200 SW 8th St. in Miami.
FIU has a series of what the school is calling “Community Nights” planned for home games this season.
It’s an effort to bring people to campus and generate additional interest in the football program.
Other September home games have similar offers for Doral and Hialeah residents.
