Monsignor Edward Pace High School hosted 60 students at its Miami Gardens campus during two cheerleading camps last summer.  Participants worked on tumbling; lifts and tosses; dance and jump classes. They also did arts and crafts; field day activities; games; makeup classes; a fashion show; yoga and themed “dress out” days.

“We wanted to provide the community in the northwest and northeast areas a camp where parents know that the kids will be safe and are doing what they love,” Surella Rodriguez, head camp director and head cheerleading coach said in a media release. The camp ended with students showcasing their skills for parents. The school said there are plans to offer camps during other school holidays.
