Monsignor Pace High School students Keanu Orfano, Matthew Schaffer, and John Moore were selected to attend the American Legion Boys State in Tallahassee from June 18-24. Boys State is a comprehensive one-week leadership course in state and local government.

This participatory program offers today's youth a better perspective on the different aspects of government, such as the responsibilities of each individual. Pace students were selected to attend and the entire experience was funded by veterans from American Legion Post 32 located in Hialeah, which is supported by donations from the local community.

Senior Keanu Orfano said, “I was excited to be on the floor of the Florida House of Representatives. It was a memorable experience to sit and debate like the actual representatives.”
