Shula’s Golf Club hosted a “Family Fun Night” in early May to expose families and children to the enjoyment of golf.

Children of all ages participated and learned the fundamentals of the full swing using a system called SNAG which stands for “Starting New At Golf.” The SNAG system features a larger ball and a larger and lighter golf club simplifying the difficult task of striking the ball straight and far.

“When success is achieved using SNAG, it makes the transition to the standard equipment much easier,” said Shula’s Golf Professional Pete Wyndorf.

After the full swing, the children participated in a “Glow in the Dark” putting contest. With a cool summer evening and glow in the dark golf balls rolling toward targets, a good time was had by all with prizes handed out to the best putters.

Shula’s offers Summer Golf Camps for junior golfers and beginners. In the week-long camp children will learn the full swing, chipping, pitching, and putting in addition to the rules of golf, etiquette and proper conduct on the golf course.
