Sports Hall of Fame committee now accepting nominees for 2019 honors

Miami Lakes Sports Hall of Fame committee announced its second call for Hall of Fame Inductee nominations. The Miami Lakes Sports Hall of Fame, an initiative of Mayor Manny Cid and supported by the Town Council, is located inside the Optimist Park Clubhouse at Miami Lakes Optimist Park, 6411 N.W. 162 Street.
Past classes of inductees have included former Miami Dolphins coaches, professional football and baseball players, standout high school athletes, community builders who shaped athletics in Miami Lakes and Optimist Club members who have dedicated decades of their time to youth sports.
The Hall of Fame Selection Committee is seeking nominations to honor athletes, coaches, community members and teams from the Town of Miami Lakes for their outstanding contributions or achievements in sports.
Nominate an individual or a team that excelled and brought positive recognition to the Town. Deadline to apply is Friday, April 5.
