Miami Lakes Senior Softballers, otherwise known as The Geezers, participated in the Town’s 2015 Elderly Affairs Committee’s Senior Games on May 20 with a softball match between the Gold and Blue Silver teams at Miami Lakes Optimist Park.
The victorious Gold team, with a 13-9 win, included Jose Caballero, Gilbert Alfonso, Ernie Garcia, Ed Londono, Rick Garcia, Dave Oliver, Jose Rivera, Rigoberto Martinez, Fred Rodriguez, Bruce Davidson, Savanna Luberto and Frank Weber. Each team member received a “Gold” medal.
Members of the Blue Silver team were Alfredo Rodriguez, Angel Hernandez, Dario Martinez, Terry Kushi, Bob Jones, Peter Fishel, George Pringle, Mariano Fernandez, Oscar Sauri, Andres Clavijo and Lee Collins.
The Geezers play every Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m. on Field 2 at Optimist Park. Male players should be at least 60 or older with no age limit for female players. For questions about the program, contact Dave Oliver at 305-822-9680.
