 Edward Tittmann, Kendall, Window Washer

“I mainly watch the Summer Olympics,” Edward Tittmann said. “The only thing I may watch [in the Winter Games] is ice skating, couples [skating]. I like it.

“As far the skiing or the snowboarding, I more like the skating,” he said.

Carlos Arrastia, Miami Lakes, Business owner

“Ice skating is usually my favorite one, figure skating,” Carlos Arrastia said.

“I really like it in general. I watch the Olympics, it’s a clean fun competition.”

But he probably won’t watch the Games after all because he said, China is accused of human rights abuses.

Maj. Javier Ruiz, Doral, Miami-Dade Police

“I prefer the Summer Olympics, I have a couple of events there,” Javier Ruiz said.  “I think the most fascinating event during the Winter Olympics is the curling, simply because it confuses the heck out of everybody that watches it.

“And the more I try to make sense of what they’re doing, the more confused I become and it makes me want to watch more.  To me it is one of those unpredictable [things], you don’t know who is going to win or who is going to lose. I’m fascinated by the mechanics of it,” he said.

Rosalyn Hamilton, Miami Lakes, Owner, Miami Lakes Sports Shop

“I like to watch the downhill skiing, ice skating. If it’s on I watch it,” Rosalyn Hamilton said. “We keep it on, we like to watch the sports.

“My husband’s uncle was in the Olympics a long time ago, so he really has a strong tie to it. He likes to watch it,” she said.

Austin Tubbs, Plantation, Parks and Recreation, Program Coordinator, Town of Miami Lakes

“Skiing and snowboarding [if I watch],” Austin Tubbs said. “I’ve done both of those in the mountains of North Carolina and that was a lot of fun.

“So I like [to watch and] figure to out ways to refine my technique a little bit,” he said.
