Miami Lakes residents Arianna Vazquez and Jodi Smith recently competed at the Florida Youth Soccer Association’s Olympic Development Program (ODP) for a chance to make the girls’ youth national teams.
The two girls, who represent the Miami Lakes United Soccer Club, will take part in the selection process by competing in state, regional and national events, as the organization determines the best players from their age groups, as they train, play and compete against each other in a series of matches.
Vazquez and Smith tested their skills before coaches, administrators and volunteers who were selected by the ODP and scored good points to be considered for the youth national teams.
