St. Thomas University recently honored their students with Academic Honors, and among the honorees was Miami Lakes resident and Miami Lakes Optimist Club product Alexis Castroman.
Castroman, a starting third baseman for the Bobcats softball team, received the Provost Honor Roll for the Spring of 2016, and she made the Dean’s List for the Fall of 2016.
“This was an absolute honor for us,” said Alex and Ivette Castroman, Alexis’ parents. “Alexis has worked extremely hard to get to where she is today as a student athlete. It only shows that with determination and hard work you can achieve your dreams and goals. We are extremely proud of her. She’s quite a young woman who has prioritized what she wants out of life and she’s achieving all of her goals.”
