The Miami Lakes Optimist Heat All Stars competed at the November Knockout Tournament in Weston and brought home the runner-up trophy, as a farewell event for some of the players who are headed to college.
The girls went 3-1, losing their first game in the final round.
Offensively, they exceeded their own expectations and led the tournament with the most runs scored. Defensively, they were on their game.
“We are all very happy with their performance,” said the team’s manager Alex Castroman. “We want to thank all of our parents for their continued support of the Miami Lakes Heat Team.
