Sports Thursday, April 4, 2019

Indianapolis Colts linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. was overwhelmed when his alma mater, Monsignor Edward Pace High, retired his NFL jersey and placed on the Spartans Football Wall of Fame.
Before a packed crowd of Pace alumni including NFL quarterback Stephen Morris, Houston Texan defensive back Kayvon Webster, principal Anna Garcia and Walker’s father and students, Walker thanked everyone for the honor and donated a $5,000 check to his former high school.
Walker became the seventh Spartans football player to have his jersey placed on the Wall of Fame.
A seventh round draft pick from Northwestern in 2017, Walker recorded nine combined tackles and made his first career interception off a pass by Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz during the 2018 season.
Walker played a big role in the Colts’ upset victory over the Houston Texans in a wild card game before losing the the Kansas Chiefs in the divisional playoffs.
