Team Mooo, made up of 14 team members led by cancer survivor Michael Barcelo, was busy on Sunday, March 22, washing cars at the Miami Lakes McDonalds to continue their fundraising efforts to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life event.

The teenagers got an early start, determined to wash as many cars as possible to exceed their team fundraising goal of $1,000. The teens recruited some extra help from parents and siblings to keep the car wash line “mooving.” One Miami Lakes resident supported the group by bringing four cars to get washed. Team Mooo was kept busy the entire five hour event effectively raising over $600.

Team Mooo's efforts will support the upcoming Miami Lakes Relay For Life event scheduled for Saturday, May 2, from noon to midnight. Team Mooo has already surpassed it’s listed $1,000 goal and hopes to raise the most funds and awareness for the Miami Lakes event making this year's relay one the biggest relays in Miami Lakes history.
