YMCA Summer Camp opens June 9 at Roberto Alonso Center

The Town of Miami Lakes announced it will offer a YMCA Summer Camp Program from June 9 through August 15 at the Roberto Alonso Community Center at Royal Oaks Park, 16500 N.W. 87 Avenue.

The camp will be open to children ages 5 to 12 years old, and will offer a sports and dance component along with a wide variety of events including sing-a-longs, arts and crafts, reading and learning, sports and games, field trips, and swim days.

The Champion Sports Camp will teach the fundamentals of a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, baseball, football and more. Campers will learn the value of teamwork and sportsmanship in both a positive and non-competitive environment.

The Dance Express! Camp will teach modern, jazz, and hip-hop routines to the latest selection of music. Campers will also participate in an end of the summer performance.

The YMCA Summer Camp will run Mondays through Fridays from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Cost is $115 per week with a one-time $45 registration fee.
