Chances are if you have seen Bringas & Sons’ advertisement for their plumbing business in the pages of The Miami Laker, you’ve noticed one of their service vans pass by in town, too.
A giant red pipe wrench in Bringas & Sons’ logo stands out on the side of their white vans, along with their slogan, “Plumbing runs in the family.”
Raul Bringas Jr., 40, said the company has advertised in The Miami Laker for three years, since the founding of the plumbing business.
“It’s nice to see a publication, a physical paper [where] you can see things going on in the community,” Bringas Jr. said.
The newspaper has a good community feel to it and you can see folks or businesses you may know within its pages, he said.
“Those features drew us to [the newspaper],” Bringas Jr. said.
He called the bi-weekly newspaper “multigenerational” because he has seen kids picking it up to read it.
The plumbing business is multigenerational too. Bringas Jr. works with his brother Tomas Bringas, 34, and their father Raul Bringas, Sr., 62.
They serve clients in Miami Lakes and in communities as distant as Boca Raton and as far south as Homestead.
He says the company got started in his home, while making repairs with his father.
“My father was like, ‘Hey, you’re really into it,’” Bringas Jr. said.
From there it was a no brainer for Bringas Jr. to join his father in the trade and for his brother to do the same.
Locating their new family business in Miami Lakes was not only due to Bringas Sr. and his relationship with The Graham Companies, but also because of the location.
Bringas Jr. says the company has its trucks and workshop in the area, so it’s easy to dispatch crews.
“It’s very central,” Bringas Jr. said.
It’s what keeps the company in Miami Lakes, and what keeps it in the pages of The Miami Laker, too.
