First Tee Miami campers try out the new course at Miami Lakes Golf Club

  First Tee Miami campers are the envy of golfers around town because they were able to learn skills on new greens at the Miami Lakes Golf Club. The $12 million renovation of the 63-year-old course at 7601 Miami Lakes Drive is nearing completion and hopes to welcome adult players in November. The kids -- whose footprints are lighter and play was less damaging to the new grass as it took root -- were allowed to play there this summer. First Tee Miami teaches putting, driving at individual holes and other fundamentals of the game. First Tee Miami also teaches life skills for off the golf course.
