JetStream Federal Credit Union participated in the Miami Dade County Public Schools Summer Internship Program for the seventh consecutive year. Students from Barbara Goleman High School’s Academy of Finance were selected to intern at JetStream Federal’s headquarters in Miami Lakes.

The students assisted with a variety of projects, such as mailings to the member population, auditing scanned files, and assisting with day to day requests for documentation. The most significant task was to complete a recovery and restore process with the Scanning Department.  This process typically takes three to four months to complete; however, the interns completed it in one month’s time.

Furthermore, they completed an in-depth training which earned them the designation as “Community Development Certified Financial Counselors.” The tools in this training are designed to educate staff on how to effectively identify and intervene to protect the financial health of members in the community.

“I am very thankful to JetStream for extending this internship opportunity. I am grateful for the mentorship and guidance I received from the staff. I will always remember my experience at JetStream Federal,” said intern Darlene Martinez.
