The Miami Lakes Bar Association’s 3rd Annual Her Court, Her Rules panel met March 19 at the Miami Lakes Hotel on Main.

Held in honor of Women’s History Month, Bar Association members collaborated with Legally Lakes, a women’s mentorship group for attorneys, to present the event that filled a ballroom at the hotel.

“Speakers shared stories from their careers, their experiences and their impact within the legal field as women who broke barriers in their respective professions,” said Gloria M. Garcia, co-founder of Legally Lakes and founder of the Gloria M. Garcia, Esq. law firm.

“It was a lovely and meaningful conversation about growth, leadership, resilience and what it means to navigate the legal profession as women in the law,” Garcia said.

Panelists at the breakfast included Judge Stephanie Silver from the 11th Judicial Circuit; Dean Tarlika Nunez-Navarro of St. Thomas University College of Law; Barbara Govea, city attorney for Hialeah, and Attorney Anna De La Rosa Quesada, a partner at the Ticket Toro law firm.

Melissa Alvarez, president of the Miami Lakes Bar Association, co-founder of Legally Lakes and associate attorney at the Gloria M. Garcia, Esq. law firm, and the Bar Association’s President-Elect, Attorney Suhaill Machado Morales, both moderated the conversation.

Sponsors included Reyes, Reves & Betancourt; St. Thomas University College of Law; Mirelis Castilla, Esq.; DRIP Health & MedSpa; Florida Probate Partners; KW Capital/KellerWilliams Realty; The Legal VA; Trembly Law Firm; The Law Firm of Arianna M.
