ML Bar Association holds 2017 installation at Shula’s Steakhouse

Business Thursday, February 2, 2017

The Miami Lakes Bar Association hosted its 2017 Installation Celebration on Friday, January 20, at Shula's Steakhouse. Over 100 attorneys, judges, and business people attended the event, which was sponsored by 22 local businesses and law firms.

Miami Dade County Public Defender Carlos Martinez administered the oath of office to the 2017 MLBA Board, which will now be led by Lorenzo Cobiella.

Cobiella has a law practice in Miami Lakes and is also of counsel to Gastesi & Associates, where he assists with representation of the Town of Miami Lakes as the assistant Town Attorney.

During his term as President, Cobiella intends to expand the membership and reach of the Miami Lakes Bar Association, provide additional continuing education opportunities for local attorneys, and host more networking events for members of the bar and the local business community to come together.

This will be Cobiella's second time serving as the Association's president. He succeeds Haydee Sera, who completed her second term as president of the MLBA. At the Installation, Miami Lakes Mayor Manny Cid and members of the Town Council presented Haydee Sera, who served as the assistant Town Attorney from 2013 to 2016 while working at Gastesi & Associates, with a proclamation naming January 20, 2017 Haydee Sera Day.
