Our Neighborhoods: The Upper East Side

As we continue through the Industrial Commerce Center in Miami Lakes' Upper East Side, there are more unique businesses that call the neighborhood home.

The Graham Companies own the complex and built it in several phases, from 1989 to 2016.

There are nine businesses spread between the four buildings, with only one office vacant in the southern section of the park along Northwest 159 Avenue and Northwest 59 Avenue, between Northwest 59th and Northwest 57th Avenue.

The location provides access that attracts many businesses that have been there for years, said Melisa Aponte, real estate associate with The Keyes Company.

“It’s centrally located, you have all the major highways nearby, so we can attract clients from North Dade and South Broward,” Aponte said.

It’s also about a half-mile from Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport, which has attracted aviation companies to the center, too.

Though it’s not just about business.

Aponte says for employees working at businesses in the center, there is an opportunity to explore Miami Lakes’ offerings, whether to have a meal or to shop.

“You’re able to attract an employee who may not live in the neighborhood but would definitely be able to enjoy restaurants for lunch,” Aponte said.

While not all businesses in Industrial Commerce Center are open to the public, some such as Vivant Pharmaceuticals allow consumers to buy skin care products online, or Sun Electronics International, which specializes in solar panel sales and installations.

Also based in the center are:  Gateway Alliance Co./Affinity Aeronautical; Digital Drafting Systems software design tools; Santos Rehabilitation Center, part of the Santos Medical Center located in the northern part of the office park; Cardinal Health, a global distributor of pharmaceuticals and manufacturer of medical and laboratory products; Complete Pharmacy and Medical Solutions; CAME Americas Automation, which provides security systems and Laria Production or LPS Productions, which produces corporate events and live shows.
