Scouts from Miami Lakes participated in the annual Ten Commandments Hike, held in Coral Springs on Jan. 18. Annual shoe drive begins for Camillus House

The Town of Miami Lakes has partnered with Loving Soles since 2013 to collect shoes for impoverished residents of Camillus House in downtown Miami, Town Clerk Gina Inguanzo said in a press statement. This year, the Miami Lakes-based charity is working with students from town to coordinate collection efforts. Town bike ride Feb. 22

The next community bike ride has a love and friendship theme. The town is asking participants to decorate bikes with red and pink gear, in the spirit of Valentine’s Day.
The Feb. 22 ride begins at Town Hall, 6601 Main St., at 8:30 a.m. Pre-register at www.TOML.eventbrite.com.

History Lake Elizabeth was developed during the late 1980s and early 1990s by The Graham Companies, which grew the 6.5 square mile town from its dairy farm.
