After school care available for Miami Lakes Youth

Summer is almost over, and the school year is right around the corner! The Town of Miami Lakes in partnership with the YMCA will be offering afterschool care throughout the school year beginning Monday, August 19.
The Programs will run Monday – Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. for children between the ages of 5 and 15 years old. Transportation is provided from Miami Lakes schools to the program locations by the YMCA. The programs will be offered at the Roberto Alonso Community Center (west side), 16500 NW 87th Avenue, and the Miami Lakes Optimist Clubhouse, 6411 NW 162nd Street.
Students will receive daily homework help as well as academic curriculum and project-based learning which include science, technology, engineering, math (STEM). The YMCA also offers a variety of enrichment options through sports, health & wellness programs, games, arts & crafts, tutoring, and recreational activities. $100/ month with transportation and one time $50 registration fee. Financial assistance is available.
