The Miami Lakes Athletic Club celebrated the end of summer with a “Zumbathon”.
About 250 gym members danced for over two hours the night of Sept. 13, led by eight instructors from the club, General Manager Anthony Artiles said.
To make it even more fun, there was a DJ and conga drummer to keep the energy going.
“The whole gymnasium was filled,” Artiles said. “We had an amazing turnout and a great event. Each of the instructors has a following and we brought them all together.”
Some of the dancers wore Carnival-style costumes. The Zumbathon has been a club tradition during the past five years, with a pause taken during the height of the COVID pandemic.
“This was the first year we brought it back, as big as this,” Artiles said.
