Coast Guard Auxiliary hosts boating safety course on Mar. 11

Miami Lakes has partnered with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary to host Boating Safety Education courses. The courses provide instruction to boaters at all levels, from the fundamental to the advanced. Classes are taught by experienced and knowledgeable instructors committed to the highest standards of the U.S. Coast Guard. 

“About Boating Safety” is a beginner’s boating class that will provide participants the knowledge to obtain a Florida Boaters Identification Card (required for boaters born after January 1988).

Topics will include Introduction to Boating; Boating Law; Boating Safety Equipment; Safe Boating; Navigation; Boating Problems; Trailering, Storing and Protecting Your Boat; and information about the Local Boating area. 

The class is $25 per person and includes a free manual and an additional class at no charge.

The first course will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, at Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
