Graham Cos. announces Main Street Banner Contest Winners

The Graham Companies announced the winners of the Miami Lakes “My Home, My Community” Main Street Banner Art Contest.

With over 340 submissions, only 26 pieces were able to be selected to be showcased along Main Street. The artwork submissions were judged by 16 individuals with a selection of the top piece of work based on Elementary, Middle School and High School.

The selected top Elementary School submission was from Miami Lakes K-8 Center’s Leana Lee with her artwork titled “Places I Enjoy.”

The selected top Middle School submission was from Miami Lakes Middle School student Cosette Perez with her artwork titled “Main Street: The Best Place to Be.”

The selected top High School submission came from Hialeah Miami Lakes student William Zepka with his artwork titled “My Town.”

In addition to Leana Lee, the overall winners from grades K-5 were Chloe Alvarodiaz, Reginald Anderson, Cassandra Balmaseda, Alexandra Batista, Onelis Torres Buela, Marilyn Grass, Sophia Inguanzo, Issabella Correchet Lugo, Oliver McCarthy, Flavia Nunez, Jessica Ramirez, Michael Rocco, Amanda Saiz and Nazli Zanabria.

In addition to Cosette Perez, the overall winners from grades 6-8 were Camila Hernandez, Ryan Ledesma, MAdison Lodono, Frances Masionet and Matthew Monzon. 

In addition to William Zepka, the overall high school winners were Zachary Chambers, Andrea Irula,Yanelis Munoz and Carina Zatarain.

The Graham Companies expressed its appreciation to Bob Graham Education Center, Miami Lakes K-8 Center, Miami Lakes Middle School, Barbara Goleman High School, American Senior High and Hialeah Miami Lakes Senior High for fully supporting the art contest with involvement from their art teachers and students.

Original pieces of artwork will be on display during a special exhibit from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, at 6709 Main Street. The light pole banners showcasing all 26 overall winners artwork will be on display through April. The Miami Lakes community is encouraged to come out to Main Street to see the talented displays of art.

Special recognition to the Main Street Merchants Association and The Miami Laker for their support of the art contest, as well as Cobb Theatre, Cold Stone Creamery and Pizza Scene for their contributions to the Winning Artists Award Packages.
