Hialeah Woman’s Club sets Thanksgiving feast Nov. 8

Community Thursday, November 2, 2017

The General Federation of Woman’s Clubs - Hialeah invites the community to a Thanksgiving Feast and Bunco on Wednesday, November 8 at the clubhouse located at 525 West 1 Avenue in Hialeah. The feast will be from noon until 3 p.m. The event is open to men and women, young and old.

The feast will be a full Thanksgiving meal with all the trimmings for just $6 per person. This will also include an afternoon of fun and laughter as everyone plays Bunco. Door prizes will be awarded and there will be a 50/50 drawing.

All proceeds from this special event will go toward the Hacienda Girls Ranch in Melbourne, Florida that houses girls 14-17 years old as a foster group home and emergency shelter, and women 18-23 as a transitional home. These girls and women have experienced great challenges including human trafficking, psychiatric diagnoses, drug and alcohol abuse, health issues, and self-harm.

Throughout the years the GFWC Florida Clubs have continued to contribute funds to the Hacienda. With increasing expenses, the GFWC of Hialeah hopes the community will participate in the Thanksgiving Feast to fund upkeep, maintenance, three meals a day, a bed, and education at the Hacienda Girls Ranch.
