In Memoriam: Longtime resident William Noble

On November 9, longtime Miami Lakes resident and Miami native William “Bill” Noble passed away peacefully in the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center in Miami. Bill was a member and past president of the Hialeah/Miami Springs Rotary Club. He attended Miami High, the University of Florida, then joined the US Navy during the Korean War.

After the war he graduated from the University of Miami with honors. He was a proud veteran and member of the American Legion. Bill had a distinguished 35 year career with the Miami-Dade School System and retired in 1990 as principal of HialeahMiami Lakes Senior High School.

Bill was an avid boater, fisherman, and spent many summers diving for lobster in the Keys. He was a true nature lover always appreciating God’s gift of birds, flowers and animals of all kinds.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Alice Marie, sons Lee and David (Cindy), daughters Nancy (Jordan) McClellan, and Carol (Charlie) Dittmar. Other survivors include five grandchildren, Candice (Justin) Goldman, Nick (Heidi) Noble, and Ryan, Dan and Morgan Dittmar.

Also surviving are his sister in-law Nancy Northey, his nieces and nephews and his beloved yorkie, Louie. He was predeceased by his brother, George Noble.
