Miami Lakes Garden Club, led by club president, Dorothy Wix, is hosting local author Antonio Simon Jr. as guest speaker on January 23 at 7:30 p.m. The lecture will be held at the Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
Simon is an attorney, lecturer, historian and award-winning author of several books. Among his books is the 2014 non-fiction release, Miami is Missing which details the geography of the city, little-known and abandoned places.
Simon earned his juris doctorate from St. Thomas University’s School of Law and is the head of business development for Darkwater Syndicate, an independent book publishing house based in Miami Lakes.
