Water pressure in Miami Lakes will be impacted to the middle of September due to a Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department (WASD) project which will repair portions of the 54-inch water main on Red Road (West 4th Avenue) in Hialeah.
WASD will shut down the water main and the repairs will be made in stages along Red Road from the Preston Water Treatment Plant located at West 2nd Avenue and West 13th Street, to West 56th Street.
As a result, residents in the Town of Miami Lakes, Hialeah and Opa Locka, will experience lower than normal water pressure during the six-week repair project. These shortages will be noticed most at high-demand usage times like the early morning or later in the evening when the majority of people are taking showers.
