Main Street Players present flamenco dancer Mariana Martinez on Aug. 19-20

Community Friday, August 4, 2017

On Saturday, August 19 at 8 p.m. and Sunday August 20 at 7 p.m., Miami Lakes residents will be in for a pleasant surprise as they are treated to the skills of flamenco dancer Mariana Martinez, who is flying in from Seville, Spain just for the shows. The performances will take place at the Main Street Playhouse at 6766 Main Street in Miami Lakes.

Flamenco, in the strictest sense, is a professionalized art form based on various folkloric music traditions of southern Spain. The word flamenco is a derivative of the Spanish word “flame” and has come to be used for fiery behavior.

Martinez will be dancing with Alessandra Torres, Cachela Judez and Jorge Robledo. Those interested in attending can purchase single seat tickets for $30, or a table for two that comes with a pitcher of sangria for $100. Tickets can be purchased at the door one hour before curtain or online. For more information or to purchase tickets visit www.mainstreetplayers.com.
