Miami Lakes Branch Library lists free programs for children, adults

Miami Lakes Branch Library has the following programs available for the public during April:

For Children:

Family Game Day! Enjoy playing a variety of table games and family and friends. For all ages at 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 12.

Reading Ready Toddler Storytime – Stories, songs and activities for toddlers and their care givers. Meets at 11 a.m. on Thursdays, April 3, 10 and 17.

Paws To Read - Certified therapy dogs listen as children read aloud and practice their reading skills. Meets at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 12.

For Teens:

Tween Book Club – This is a tween book club for ages 8-12. Members meet once a month to discuss the chosen book of the month. Registration required. Meets at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19.

Tales Under the Stars - Bring lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy a captivating evening of stories from around the world. Special performance by storyteller Carrie Sue Ayvar. Program made possible by the Town of Miami Lakes Education Advisory Board. For all ages at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.

Teen Club: Earth Day – Teens make use of recycled materials at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8.

Teen Club: Games and More - Teens meet to play video games, watch anime, draw or discuss books. For ages 12-19 years at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 1.

For Adults:

Book Discussion Group – Contact the branch for this month’s title. Meets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.

Commissioner Esteban Bovo Jr.’s Mobile Office Community Outreach – Provides an opportunity for the community to speak with the Commissioner and/or his representative at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 14.

Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart Community Outreach – A member of Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart’s staff will visit the library to discuss federal issues or any problem a constituent may have with a federal agency. Meets at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 23.
