Fans of author Alka Joshi are in for a treat.

The New York Times bestselling author of “The Henna Artist” and “The Secret Keeper of Jaipur” will talk with readers via Zoom about her novels at Miami Lakes Town Hall on Oct. 6.

The audience will be able to enjoy light fare at this 90-minute, free event while Joshi takes questions about her stories of a woman’s rebellion against traditions in India, how she strives to achieve financial and personal freedom.

Joshi’s first novel, “The Henna Artist,” was published when she was 62 years old. Previously Joshi had a three-decades-long career in advertising and marketing.

She’ll likely tease readers on details about her third book in what is called the Jaipur trilogy, “The Perfumist of Paris,” set for release in March.

The “Henna Artist” is a Reese Witherspoon Book Club choice and is reportedly going to become a series on Netflix.

The Miami Lakes event is being presented by the Cultural Affairs Committee at Town Hall, 6601 Main St.,  from 7 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.
