Miami-Dade Public Schools’ Office of Economic Opportunity, in partnership with the Town of Miami Lakes, is hosting a workshop on How to do Business with Miami-Dade Public Schools, at 5 p.m., on Wednesday, July 23, at the Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
Miami-Dade Schools officials including Chief Facilities officer Jaime Torrens, Economic Development officer Brian A. Williams and Chief Procurement officer Melody Thelwell, along with the Miami Lakes Town Council, will be on hand.
The officials will discuss opportunities for vendors, contractors, and consultants to do business with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. As one of the largest businesses in Florida, the District purchases all types of supplies, materials, commodities, and services; as well as constructing and maintaining a large variety of facilities.
The School Board is committed to promoting and developing business relationships with a wide variety of businesses and ensuring that minority and women owned businesses have the chance to compete for a fair share of these opportunities.
