Miami Lakes Cultural Affairs Committee will host a concert on Saturday, February 10, in honor of Black History Month featuring the Florida Memorial Gospel Choir.

The free concert will be at 8 p.m. at Miami Lakes United Methodist Church, 14800 N.W. 67 Avenue (Ludlam Road.)

Florida Memorial’s history and traditions reach back to 1879; their accomplishments have made them the only historically black university in southern Florida.

The Gospel Choir is led by Melvin White, who also serves as the Interim Chairperson for the Visual and Performing Arts, and director of Vocal Studies and the Ambassador Chorale for the University.
