Miami Lakes Pumpkin Patch set to open Sept. 29 to Halloween

The Miami Lakes United Methodist Church (MLUMC) located at 14800 Ludlam Road, has extended its pumpkin patch grand opening this year by a whole week. The Patch will open Saturday, September 29 and run all the way to Halloween on Wednesday, October 31. 

Pumpkins will be arriving around 4 p.m. on Friday, September 28, Wednesday, October 10 and Wednesday, October 24. Students in need of volunteer hours can help unload. For more information, call (305) 821-7274 or email office@miamilakesumc.net. 

Admission to the patch is $3 Monday through Thursday, with admission being $5 Friday through Sunday. Children 12 years old and under have free admission with a paying adult. The admission price includes $3 Pumpkin Bucks that may be applied towards any pumpkin or gourd purchase (not valid for any other purchase.)

Pumpkins in a variety of shapes and sizes will be available, as well as pumpkin bread, face painting, balloon creations, weekend performances, crafters and photo opportunities. A new Princess Carriage will also make a debut. 

On October 13, a Bonfire Under the Stars will be scheduled at sundown. Event-goers are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, but alcoholic beverages will not be allowed. 

On October 27, the event will host Flanigan’s Dinner and Show of Illusion. Tickets will be $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 12 and under. If event-goers forgo dinner and just see the show, entry at the door will be $5 per person. Dinner will be available 5:30-8:30 p.m. from the Flanigan’s food truck, and may be picked up before or after the show, however no food will be allowed in the show. The show will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased in advance by visiting the church office or calling (305) 821-7274. 

School field trips will be held every weekday morning beginning Monday, October 1 through Friday, October 26. There is a fee of $8 per child, and recreation includes interactive activities, songs, refreshments, a little pumpkin for each child, a goodie bag and a group photo with the whole classroom. Professional photographers are welcome by appointment only. Passes will be $60 for a single day or $250 for the duration of the pumpkin patch. Appointments are also available for after event hours. For more information, call (305) 821-7274.
