Miami Lakes Toastmasters Club installed Jacqueline House, MBA, CC, CL, on July 1, as president of the new board of officers for the 2014-2015 term.
House has been a member of Toastmasters for three years and previously served on the board as vice president of Public Relations. She is also a board member of the Association of Professional Researchers of Florida, and the Zonta Club of Miami Lakes.
In addition to her professional career, she assists newly promoted leaders and managers in transitioning into their new roles. As an extension of her program, she hosts “JD House Speaks,” a blog which encourages new leaders to participate in thoughtful and insightful dialogue about leadership.
Other newly elected officers include secretary Monica Capovani, treasurer Steve Hogan, vice president of Education Geraldine Hogan, vice president of membership Lillian Thomas, vice president of Public Relations Alina Philipp, and Sergeant at Arms David Crawford.
In his installation address, outgoing president Thomas Harrell said, “It is exciting to welcome new members to the board. They bring a fresh perspective and different approach to management and I know they will serve with integrity and determination.”
