Carlos Cahiz of OFE Orchid Supplies in Kendall will give a presentation on the what, why and how of orchid cultivation in South Florida at the monthly meeting of the Miami Lakes Garden Club at 7 p.m. on Monday, September 28, at the Mary Collins Community Center, 15151 N.W. 82 Avenue.
The presentation will explain the use of different types of orchid fertilizers, what do the numbers mean, and what to look for in an orchid fertilizer.
Cahiz’ presentation will also include an introduction to the use of fungicides and insecticides for orchid collections. He will close with actual demonstrations of orchid planting.
The general public interested in orchid care is invited to attend.
