Nestor Zurita & Los Robustos launched the latest Main Street Live! concert series on Jan. 16.  The Latin Jazz Fusion/Brazilian group played on the circle before an audience of all ages and prompted some to dance.

During the show and after, people enjoyed treats from restaurants in the heart of Miami Lakes. Main Street Live! is presented in part with the Town of Miami Lakes; its Economic Development Committee; Cultural Affairs Committee; The Graham Companies and the Main Street Merchants

Free concerts will continue through May at the oak tree on Main Street.

Miramar resident Peter Segrera, his wife Adalyn and Matt, their miniature poodle, shown at left, carried glasses of wine from Bon Vivant Charcuterie & Gourmet Market while enjoying the music. He is a member of BNI Miami Lakes and owns AAA Impact Windows & Doors. He had heard about Main Street Live! during a recent meeting of the business networking group.

“They mentioned they were going to have live music so we decided to come out and support it,” Segrera said. He said it was a nice atmosphere to spend with the family.

Adalyn Segrera grew up in Miami Lakes and remembered the concerts that were held on Main Street years ago.

“It’s really great,” she said. “It’s great that it’s back to its heyday.”

The next concert will feature The Whisky Six Band, who play modern country, on Feb.   20, 7:30 p.m. at 6710 Main St.
