Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School’s 20th Anniversary Children’s Fashion Show and Luncheon, “Through the Years” was a stylish fund-raising success. The show was held on October 15 at the Doubletree Miami Airport Convention Center. It featured 134 student models, from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade, and drew more than 600 guests.
The fashion show is the largest fundraiser for the first half of the school year. The money raised goes towards the “Lend-a-Hand Scholarship Program” that provides tuition assistance to families in need and for the educational needs of the school.
This year’s theme was “Through the Years” and students performed to a variety of music. The music and dance, choreographed by Teresita Miranda, Miranda Productions, showcased the students’ special talents.The school thanks the MC, Roxanne Vargas, Entertainment host and reporter for NBC 6 South Florida.
The school administration expressed their thanks to the ladies of the Fashion Show committee and the backstage helpers, as well as its appreciation for the talented students and their families for their patience, commitment and enthusiasm.
The fundraiser was a success due to the commitment of its sponsors, especially Grand Sponsors The Farah Family and Blo – Blow Dry Bar– Aventura; Diamond Sponsors Drs. Luis and Sonia Victores, Mr. & Mrs. Patrick and Grethel Kunkel, Oliva Cigars, Simply Healthcare Plans and Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits. The beautiful clothes modeled by the students were provided by Dillard’s of Pembroke Lakes Mall, Zayas Bridal & Quinceañeras and Zayas Men’s Shop & Tuxedos.
