Pets of Miami Lakes

Meet Lucky, a mackerel tabby cat whose name reflects his life story.

When Lucky was a 3-month-old kitten, Jeanette Campos found him hiding in grass near a parking lot along Fairway Drive in Miami Lakes.

“A security guard told me he was all alone,”

Campos said. “I took him in, and he’s been a part of our family ever since.”

Lucky lives with Jeanette Campos, her husband Mike Campos and their daughters Gina Corrales and Mia Corrales.

Even though he’s reached the ripe old age of 18, Lucky still has all of his teeth and can see very well, Campos said.

“He’s very affectionate,” Campos said. “He loves to sleep, snack on Friskies Party Mix salmon flavor and look out the window from our apartment in the Bull Run community.

“He’s a special part of our family,” she said.
