Oreo is an English Spot Rabbit who belongs to Isabella Encalada, 8. The rabbit lives with her grandparents Florita Hidalgo-Gato and Erik Hidalgo-Gato in Miami Lakes. Florita Hidalgo-Gato gave Oreo to Isabella as a gift last fall after she made the honor roll at school.
Isabella lives with her mother Aylen Hidalgo-Gato in Palm Springs North.
Isabella named her rabbit after the Oreo cookie because “she looks like one, white and black,” she said. “She likes to eat hay and for snacks, I give her apples, carrots, romaine lettuce, bananas and grapes and parsley too.”
Oreo is 19 months old and has heart-shaped spots around her eyes. She is very friendly toward people and likes children, Isabella said. Also,“She likes to lay around,” Isabella said.
