Oreo is a 7-year-old Havapoo, a cross between a Havanese and a Poodle.
His “sister,” Lisa Arango Rivero, submitted him for the column to surprise her parents Ruben and Monica Arango and her sister Catalina Arango, of Miami Lakes.
Oreo is an affable guy and Ruben’s wing man, according to Arango Rivero.
He accompanies Ruben to the gas station and Lowe’s. He also worships Monica and follows her around their home, Arango Rivero said.
Oreo's hobbies are sunbathing, napping and watching TV. He’ll bark at fierce animals like lions and tigers when they appear on the screen.
“I feel like he thinks he’s a big dog,” Arango Rivero said.
Oreo is a protector. He will perch on a recliner to better see out of a front window, watch passersby and bark at those he deems a threat.
Oreo can tell time, too.
“He waits for my father to arrive home from work and knows when he is coming,” she said.
