Athletic field rehabilitation work has started at Royal Oaks Park on all four fields. This involves heavy grounds maintenance work inclusive of deep tine aeration, core aeration (minimum two directions per field) as well as harvesting all field cores for sprigging to encourage proper growth in the turf.
Following the application of sprigs, the fields will be rolled to level out the playing surfaces.
During this period, fields will be closed for play, and the public will be directed to the open play field area at Royal Oaks Park, Barbara Goleman Senior High School, and Optimist Park.
The fields are scheduled to be open and ready for play by mid-August.
