Community Wednesday, January 17, 2018

Miami Lakes Elderly Affairs Committee offers free field trips for Miami Lakes residents 55 years and above. The next field trip is to Zoo Miami on Tuesday, February 6.

Transportation will be provided from Miami Lakes Optimist Park Clubhouse, 6411 N.W. 162 Street. The bus will depart at 10 a.m.

Zoo Miami is the largest and oldest zoological garden in Florida and the only sub-tropical zoo in the continental United States. The unique South Florida climate allows the display of a wide variety of animals from Asia, Australia, and Africa, representing a broad mix of species that is unlike any other zoo in the country.

Guests can enjoy an air-conditioned monorail system with an aerial view that loops around the zoo’s premises, and can also enjoy a wide selection of dining and retail options throughout the zoo.

Space is limited and reservations are required by contacting Nathalie Garcia at garcian@miamilakes-fl.gov, or by calling 305-364-6100, ext. 1166. Reservations remain open until all seats are filled.
